If you grew up in the south you probably have been to a fish camp. Fish camps have a fairly unique history behind them. Let’s cover a brief history behind the term fish camp. Back in the 1800’s, men would go fishing to provide food for their family. They would camp out along the banks of the river and sit and catch fish. While there, in order to eat, they would cook some of the fish that they had caught. Soon, more and more people started showing up and before long, they would have a huge camp. Some moved their camps closer to their homes and started charging people to come eat. before long, they built buildings and it turned into what we have today, the fish camp. This is the review of Captain Steve’s Family Seafood Restaurant, a southern style fish camp.

Captain Steve’s Family Seafood Restaurant has been located on Hwy 21 headed toward Pineville, NC for more than 10 years. It is not one of the older establishments like we talked about earlier in the post, but that does not mean they do not have a huge following. Captain Steve’s might even be one of the most popular fish camps in our area.

In conclusion, Captain Steve’s Family Seafood Restaurant has a really good food. While we were there I did a restaurant review video and I will have that posted down below for you to see. To me, they have some of the best food around. When I go I get the small plate, and even that is too much for me to eat. I usually get flounder and shrimp combo but they have many other dishes that are great too like their chicken tips over rice. Try them out and see for yourself.
