Shrimp Boat Rock Hill, SC

Shrimp Boat

Aint No Chicken Like Shrimp Boat Chicken

It is funny to see a tag line from a company whose name is Shrimp Boat but claims there is not any chicken like Shrimp Boat chicken. Today we stop by the Shrimp Boat in Rock Hill, SC located on S. Heckle Blvd to see if the claim is true. This is the review of Shrimp Boat Rock Hill SC.

The Shrimp Boat has been serving the Rock Hill, SC area since 1964. Originally part of a franchise dating back to the 1960’s, it is now independently owned and operated. There are two stores in Rock Hill area and one that is separately owned in nearby Lancaster, SC. You can read more about the history of the Shrimp Boat from my friends at Marie, Let’s Eat! Furthermore, they have done a lot of research on the history of this franchise and it would be a discredit to not showcase their work! After all, I am here to share with you the food from these awesome places but I do like to give a brief history to its existence if I can find it.

The food is cooked to order which separates it from fast food that may be cooked and sit under heat lamps for a while.

The Shrimp Boat is a casual dining restaurant. You come in and order your food, next you take your seat and they bring it out to you. The food is cooked to order which separates it from fast food that may be cooked and sit under heat lamps for a while. The restaurant is always clean and the people working are friendly. When I used to work on alarms systems I frequently visited the area restaurants. Shrimp Boat was one of the cleanest I have ever been in, especially for the age of the place. There was always someone in the back mopping and cleaning. Additionally, I have been to other restaurants in the Rock Hill area that the floors were so greasy that you could barely stand.

The meat was tender, moist, and succulent. It had an excellent crust that just crumbles in your mouth.

Adding Texas Pete to my Lunch Special Chicken Tender Plate w/ Fries

The Shrimp Boat brings their food out piping hot. On this occasion, I ordered their chicken tenders. The meat was tender, moist, and succulent. It had an excellent crust that just crumbles in your mouth. I love their fries which are crinkle cut fries. Even though the fries are most likely pre-frozen, and not cut fresh, they are still delicious. They are cooked to perfection just the way I like. In fact, they have even started adding a little seasoning salt which I believe is an awesome touch.  All in all, this is some of the best chicken I have ever had. I would rank it near the top of my list. One of these days I will bring myself to try their calabash shrimp or that awesome looking chuckwagon sandwich.

Wow, that was a great review. I really loved doing this one. I hope you enjoyed it too. Get your sugar fix at Hey Sugar Shop

Have I ever told you have much I love sweets? Well, it is true. As a matter of fact, I love them too much. It is not those hard sugary candies that get me into trouble. What gets me the most is the dedicated cakes, pies, and chocolate desserts, you know the bad ones. I could skip most meals for a slice of pie heaven. I found a local shop in Rock Hill, SC to get my fix now. Hey Sugar Shop is serving up what they call cake truffles, and boy they are delicious. Continue reading “Hey Sugar Shop”

7 Must-Try Restaurants in Waynesville, NC

If you are in Waynesville, NC these are 7 Must-Try Restaurants

I have stated many times that Western North Carolina is one of my favorite places to visit. There is something about that part of the Smoky Mountains that has a special place in my heart. It could be the childhood memories that I have experienced there. Or like a close friend of mine said when talking about a restaurant we both have been going to since childhood and now the food has gone down,”It is not really about the food for me anymore but about the atmosphere and tradition.” Either way, food and places we visit as a child hold special places in people’s heart. It is a way of connecting those memories with the past. Even if the food or place is not as good, you still like to visit it for the memories. Each time I have visited Maggie Valley, NC, we also visited nearby Waynesville. Waynesville is similar in style to Asheville, NC, but on a smaller scale. There are many really cool and unique shops located in downtown Waynesville. There just as many awesome restaurants throughout the town too. This is my list of 7 Must-Try Restaurants in Waynesville, NC. Continue reading “7 Must-Try Restaurants in Waynesville, NC”
