Country Omelet is not just serving breakfast food

On this edition of Southern Food Junkie, we head out to Richburg, SC to visit a place that has been doing it right since the 80’s. They are located near the intersection of Highway 9 and Interstate I-77. Right next to a truck stop, they are serving up some of the finest food . The owner, Scott Hill, once a Waffle House manager is doing things the right way with fresh food and ingredients. This is the Country Omelet in Richburg, SC.

I was wanting to showcase not only the great food that they serve here but that the Country Omelet is not just a breakfast place.

We stopped by The Country Omelet  around 11:00 am. I was trying to beat the crowds so we could get a good seat. Nevertheless, my plan did not work. When I got there it was already crowded with customers taking in a late breakfast, some customers were locals that appeared to have been hunting, others were travelers. I was here for lunch. I was wanting to showcase not only the great food that they serve here but that the Country Omelet is not just a breakfast place. I think about other restaurants trying to serve breakfast and dinner when their main feature is breakfast. Sometimes those restaurants miss the mark, I am looking at you waffle house, but not the Country Omelet. I may argue that the lunch and dinner might even be better.

The first bite left juices running down my hand.

On this occasion, I ordered a Cheeseburger with hand cut fries. It was everything that I had hoped it would be. Cheeseburger from Country OmeletThe first bite left juices running down my hand. The flavor of that patty (hand formed patty not frozen) was simply amazing. As I am writing this I am wishing I had one in my hand right now. It was that good. I hear they serve frog legs and quail on their menu on certain nights, I got to go back to try those out.
