It is no secret that Americans love their steak. In America, Steak used to be a food that was consumed on a special occasion to celebrate a milestone or achievement. Most families in the South were hunters and gathers and consumed wild game meat as their protein source.

With the rise in industrialization, families went to work and sold off their land. They traded hunting and gathering for manufacturing jobs.

Meanwhile, commercial meat consumption started to rise. This brought the price of a steak down so most families can enjoy it more than on special occasions now. Above all, this brought about the modern restaurant. Presently, a Steakhouse restaurant can now be found in most towns. This is the Top 5 Steakhouse Chains in America.

Our List of the Top 5 Steakhouse Chain Restaurants

Longhorn Steakhouse

The first chain restaurant on our list is Longhorn Steakhouse Restaurant. Longhorn was founded in 1981 in Atlanta, GA. Darden Restaurants bought the Longhorn restaurant chain in 2007. Darden is the same family of restaurants that owns Olive Garden and Red Lobster.

There are many things to love about Longhorn from the bread they bring to the table to their grilled steaks.

This restaurant features a western ranch theme now with a full menu of mouth-watering steaks and appetizers.

For those not wanting steak, they have other options to choose from like their red rock shrimp and parmesan-crusted chicken. Check them and I think you will agree that they should be included in our top 5 steakhouse chain Restaurants.

Outback Steakhouse

Next on our list of the top 5 steakhouse chain restaurants is Outback Steakhouse. According to their website, Outback Steakhouse was started in Tampa, FL in 1988.

Outback Steakhouse has an Australian theme with separates it from the vast majority of steakhouse chain restaurants that feature some type of Western theme in their restaurant.

Ultimately, what sets them apart is the bold spices that flavor their steaks. It has heat and savory all rolled into one making them very flavorful and delectable.

Besides the steaks, one of their more popular items on the menu has to be the bloomin’ onion. The Bloomin’ onion is a huge onion that has been cored, sliced, and dredged in a batter. Finally, it is then deep-fried to a golden brown color. Tear it apart and dip it in their secret bloomin’ onion sauce for an out-of-this-world taste.

Make sure you try Outback Steakhouse out and let us know what you think. We love to hear from you.

As soon as you walk in the door at Logan’s you are greeted by a huge barrel of roasted peanuts. Meanwhile, as you wait you can munch on the peanuts and pick out a steak in the steak cooler.

They have an open view of the kitchen where you can see the steaks being cooked to perfection.  The steaks at Logan’s Roadhouse are tender and flavorful.

First and foremost they are known for their delicious steaks, but they also have other choices that are popular too. One of those choices has to be their ribs.

In any case, make sure you stop in and try them out and I am sure you will agree that they should make our list of top 5 steakhouse chain restaurants.

Texas Roadhouse

Next to last on our list of top 5 steakhouse chain restaurants is Texas Roadhouse. Have you ever tried to get into a Texas Roadhouse Restaurant on a Friday or Saturday night? Let me forewarn you to be prepared to wait a while. Their food is so good that they always have a wait.

I was there around 4:30 in the afternoon and it was still packed.

What is surprising to find out is that Texas Roadhouse is headquartered in Clarksville, Indiana. Being that their name is Texas, you would think the headquarters is in Texas. They do have locations in every state across the US.

The rolls and cinnamon butter are one of our favorite things at Texas Roadhouse. They come out hot and fresh and are simply delicious. Try not to eat too many of them so you can save room for their steaks.

Their steaks have to be one of the best out of the steakhouse chain restaurants.

Furthermore, their burgers are one of the best around too. The burgers have an awesome seasoning on them. No doubt, one bite and you will be hooked.

Check out Texas Roadhouse next time you are close by one and let us know what you think.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

Finally, our list of top 5 steakhouse chain restaurants ends with a restaurant you may or may not have heard of before. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill started in Charlotte, NC but has quietly spread across the US. They can be found in 18 states from North Carolina to as far away as Arizona.

This restaurant is very good. Also, it is the restaurant that I chose to take my wife to on our very first date.

If you are in the mood for steaks this is the place to go. The steaks are cooked to perfection on their wood-fired grilled. The steaks have a hint of smokiness and are fork-tender. Arguably one of the best steaks to come from a chain steakhouse in my opinion.

If steaks are not your thing they have extensive seafood and chicken options that I am sure will please your palate.

Make sure you give Firebirds a try if you have one in your area.
