Every year we make the trip up to Maggie Valley in the fall. It has become an annual tradition in our family. One of the main reason we love going there is because the area is so low key. Most of the businesses there are owned by locals. This includes the restaurants. There simply are no franchise restaurant to be seen. Every year we see new attendants in the old buildings. Thanksgiving is more than just spending time with family and friends
As we draw closer to the end of Thanksgiving week, it ushers in a lot of emotions. It can be happy for some, and a very sad time for others. There are people traveling all over to meet with family and friends they may not have seen in a while. This is the start to the busiest time of the year. In the midst of summer we was all wishing for fall to get here, now fall is almost over and it is about time for Winter. I have to say that this is my favorite time of the year. It starts with College Football season and one of my favorite things to do, Hunting. Then we continue on to Thanksgiving then Christmas. Canyons has the best view of any restaurant in the Boone area.
Our last stop on our trip to Boone, NC lead us to a unique place. We passed by this place last year and we simply ran out of time to stop. Try the Dan’l Boone Inn for the best comfort food in town.
Boone, NC is a town that has tales of folklore as tall as the mountains that surround it. Boone got it’s named from the famous American Pioneer, Daniel Boone, that is said to have frequently camped there while passing through. Located in the heart of the town is a restaurant that is serving up country ham biscuits that some day may add to the town’s folklore traditions.
