Epic Experience at The Cheesecake Factory in Charlotte, NC

Sharing is caring!

My wife and I have been trying to eat at The Cheesecake Factory in Charlotte, NC for years. Every time we would try, there would be a long wait.

I am not talking about an hour wait, no we are talking about a two-hour wait. I was thinking, this place must be good.

On our visit, my wife and I were on a date and ended up in an area where The Cheesecake Factory is. It was early in the afternoon, around 4:00 PM, so we decided to give The Cheesecake Factory a try. We got lucky this time around.

We walked up and added our names to the list, It is going to be an hour wait the lady said. We stood up next to the wall and a nice couple walked up and handed us their pager. They said you will only have a five-minute wait. So we waited for about five minutes and sure enough, they called us back.

History of The Cheesecake Factory

According to The Cheesecake Factory Website, it all started in the 1940s when Evelyn Overton found a recipe in her local Detroit newspaper. This recipe inspired her to make the Original Cheesecake that we all know and love today.

Everyone loved her recipes so much that she decided to open a small bakery but after having kids, she had to shut it down. She moved all her equipment to her basement and began baking there.

Eventually, they moved to Los Angeles and gave the business one more shot. It was a success and she was now selling her famous cheesecakes to restaurants all over Los Angeles.

In 1978, their son decided to open a restaurant and the rest is history.

Inside of The Cheese Cake Factory

The Cheesecake Factory is a beautiful restaurant. It reminds me of pictures I have seen of restaurants and buildings in Italy. Very beautifully decorated.

When you walk into the restaurant, it is truly breathtaking. I do not believe I have ever been to a more beautiful chain restaurant before.

What do they Serve Other Than Cheesecake at the Cheese Cake Factory?

The Cheesecake Factory doesn’t just serve cheesecake. The menu is very diverse and should offer something to please even the strictest palate. Food items range from hamburgers to southern comfort food, to Asian-inspired dishes.

For instance, I ordered Chicken Madeira, one of their specialty dishes. My wife ordered Orange Chicken, an Asian-inspired dish.

Dessert

Let’s be honest here, most people come for dessert right? On the way out, they have a huge counter where you can order any type of cheesecake you can imagine. We both ordered two slices of cheesecake. I got Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake and my wife got Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake.

Both were to die for. They really make the best cheesecake but I also have to say the food we ate beforehand was really good as well.

Ronnie, I've found that restaurants with huge menus are usually not very good. The Cheesecake Factory is my one exception to that rule. I've loved everything I've ever had there. We don't have one nearby, but I've eaten at various ones while traveling. Two of my favorites are the Chicken Piccata (with mashed potatoes instead of angel hair pasta) and the Pasta Da Vinci.

I agree with you on the huge menus. To be honest we almost did not go because so many people told us the food was not good but the dessert was. Boy were they wrong. I thought both of our dishes was fantastic!. I really appreciate you stopping by.
