Greetings Fellow Food Junkie Followers,
Today we are bringing to you a holiday favorite of mine and so many around the South, Sausage Balls. Typically, these are made with Bisquick baking mix but today I am bringing you a way to make it with self-rising flour. I do believe that Bisquick may have been the one that came up with this recipe but honestly, I am not sure. In this recipe, I was able to come up with a way to make sausage balls made without Bisquick.
Bisquick baking mix combines all of the ingredients needed to make biscuits. It is supposed to make it easy and quick for those that want to make biscuits and other items. It has the flour, leavening agents, and fat all mixed into the mix. In order to keep the fat stable though, it has other ingredients as well. With that being said, I thought to myself, well the sausage already has fat in it so why not just use regular self-rising flour, so that is what we did. Turns out, it works pretty well. So, this is my recipe for Sausage balls without made bisquick baking mix. Try it for yourself and see what you think.
