Cheap Authentic Mexican Tacos
Tacos have always been a favorite dish of mine. They are simple yet full of flavor. In addition, they are easy to make at home but I find they never taste quite like they do from a Mexican restaurant. I love getting them from the restaurants but I have always heard that the best taco come from the trucks (food trucks). Well, a few weeks back I was asked to do a collaboration with Discover Indian Land, a website and social media brand dedicated to showcasing all things related to Indian Land, South Carolina (SC). Where did they want to meet? A taco truck, their favorite place to grab a quick bite. This is Tacos Nayarit #2 in Indian Land, SC.
The locals call this area the “Pan handle” because well if you look at a map it is shaped like a pan handle
Tacos Nayarit #2 is located just off a busy intersection, Hwy 521 and Hwy 160. The locals call this area the “Pan handle” because well if you look at a map it is shaped like a pan handle. Anyways, Tacos Nayarit has a sweet little setup. They have a permanent covered shelter with fans all around. It is located in the back of MJ mart which is the store that sits on the corner.
There is something to be said of a tasty meal that is just so simple and fresh.
Tacos Nayarit is serving up fresh, authentic Mexican style tacos. They come served on a warm corn tortilla with a slice of lime. Just a little squeeze and it gives the tacos a little bit of flare! There is something to be said of a tasty meal that is just so simple and fresh. On the menu is Chorizo (Mexican Sausage), chicken, steak, tripe (cow stomach), and Lengua (cow tongue) among other things. You pick your meat then tell them how you wanted it cooked. I ordered one chicken, one steak, and a side of tripe. Yes you read that right! It was a must try. I also picked up a bottle of Jarritos which is authentic Mexican soda.
I really loved the little extras you get like cucumbers and radish slices.
At any rate, the food here was fabulous. The chicken and steak was cook just right and the flavor of the corn comes through on the corn tortilla. I really loved the little extras you get like cucumbers and radish slices. One of my favorite things I tried was their fresh made sauces. Both were fabulous but my favorite was the Verde sauce. I love the bite it had and the mild to medium heat.
Finally, If you are ever in the area and looking for a cheap, quick bite; give Tacos Nayarit #2 a try. In my opinion, I am sure you will love it! The owners are super nice and just love people.
