Take a drive down South Carolina Scenic Highway 11 from Campobello toward Landrum, SC, and you'll eventually come to an intersection—a junction. Sitting on one of the corners is a rustic building with Old Glory waving out front as you pass by.
Stepping through the doors feels a little like traveling back to a simpler time when food was simple but good. If you enjoy old-fashioned Southern home cooking and country restaurants, this is one place you may want to add to your list.
This is our visit to The Junction restaurant in Landrum, SC, where we stopped for some Southern cooking while traveling through the South Carolina Upstate.
Where Is The Junction in Landrum, SC?
The Junction is located at the intersection of South Carolina Highway 11 and South Carolina Highway 14, near Landrum in the Gowensville community of South Carolina.
If you're traveling through the area, Highway 11 is also known as the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway and runs through one of my favorite parts of the South Carolina Upstate.
The Junction makes a convenient stop if you're traveling around Landrum, Campobello, Gowensville, or exploring attractions along Scenic Highway 11.

How We Found The Junction Restaurant
On this particular trip, my family and I were heading toward Cleveland, SC, to visit some of South Carolina's awesome state parks. We were looking for a place to eat along the way when we came across The Junction.
We love stopping at a good country restaurant when we're traveling, especially the local places you might not know about unless someone tells you about them.
The Junction looked like our kind of place, so we decided to give it a try.

Inside The Junction in Landrum
The Junction occupies an older building that looks like it could have been an old general store at one time. The front of the building was actually one of the things that first caught my attention.
I love the rustic, faded sign sitting above the front door. It gives the restaurant the kind of character that fits right in along Scenic Highway 11.
Once we walked through the doors, one of the first things I noticed was the murals covering the walls.
Someone in the area is obviously very talented. The murals stretch along the walls of the main dining area and feature picturesque views of the mountains surrounding this part of South Carolina.
Between the rustic building and the mountain murals, The Junction has the feel of an old-fashioned country restaurant.
The Junction Menu and Country Buffet
For the most part, The Junction is a country buffet restaurant, although they also have a menu you can order from.
When we visited, the buffet was what caught our attention.
You walk in, pay, grab your plate, and "fill 'er up" with that day's selection of Southern food.
In addition to the main buffet line, there was a salad bar and a selection of desserts to choose from.
The exact buffet selections, menu items, prices, and hours can change, so I recommend checking with the restaurant for the most current information before making a special trip.
What We Ate at The Junction
The food was really good, but my favorite thing on the buffet was the chicken pot pie.
The cornbread rolls came in a close second.
Those are the kinds of foods I enjoy finding at local country restaurants—nothing overly complicated, just good Southern comfort food.

More Places to Eat Around the South Carolina Upstate
One of my favorite things about traveling around South Carolina is finding local restaurants like The Junction along the way.
If you enjoy finding local restaurants while traveling Scenic Highway 11, The Junction isn't the only place worth stopping. Farther down Highway 11 in Chesnee, you'll find Strawberry Hill Café, another one of my favorite Upstate South Carolina stops. It's a great place for breakfast or lunch, and you can also grab homemade ice cream and shop for fresh, locally grown produce while you're there.
Is The Junction in Landrum, SC Worth a Visit?
If you're traveling through Landrum, Gowensville, Campobello, or along Scenic Highway 11, The Junction is worth considering when you're looking for some good old-fashioned country cooking.
What I enjoyed most was that we didn't plan this stop. We were simply traveling through the area, got hungry, saw an interesting-looking country restaurant, and decided to give it a try.
Sometimes those unexpected stops turn into some of the most memorable parts of a trip.
