Boone, NC, is a town filled with folklore as tall as the mountains that surround it. Boone got its name from the famous American pioneer Daniel Boone, who is said to have frequently camped in the area while passing through.

Located right in the heart of town is a restaurant serving up country ham biscuits that may one day add to Boone’s own folklore. That restaurant is the Dan’l Boone Inn, located in Downtown Boone, NC.
The landscaping that adorns the property always has something blooming in season. Once you set foot on the grounds, it feels like you’ve stepped back in time — to a time when life was simple, and food was fresh from the garden.
Located in The Heart of Boone, NC
The restaurant sits at a busy intersection in Boone, NC, but once you’re on the property, none of that seems to matter. Everything beyond the gates fades away.
Housed in one of Boone’s oldest buildings, the Dan’l Boone Inn offers a comforting escape from the busy world outside. It’s the kind of place that feels welcoming the moment you arrive.
While you’re in the area, make sure to save some time to visit Ashe County Cheese, located just a short drive away in West Jefferson, NC.
The Food Is Served Family Style
Everything they make is brought straight to the table, and if you want more of something, just ask your server. Yes — that includes dessert.
All of the food here is fantastic, but the country ham biscuits are my personal favorite. You know a Southern boy loves his biscuits.
If I had to compare Dan’l Boone Inn to another restaurant, I’d say it’s similar to Mama’s Farmhouse in Pigeon Forge, TN, or the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant in Sevierville, TN. If you’ve eaten at either of those, you know exactly the style of food and experience you’re getting here.
